Teen driver charged in crash that killed passenger on prom night

A 17-year-old driver has been charged in the death of a high school classmate who was a passenger in her car on prom night last month in Ohio. The teenager, who has not been identified by officials, has been charged with one count of aggravated vehicular homicide and two counts of vehicular assault. The charges were announced earlier in May by the Butler County Sheriff's Office. The plan right now is to keep the case in the juvenile court system.

The crash occurred on April 27. There were four people total in the car. According to the police report, the driver was operating a 2013 Tesla at high rates of speed. The vehicle spun out of control and hit a telephone pole when the driver tried to perform a correction in the course of travel.

How can I drive safely near large trucks?

Driving has become second nature for millions of people. They drive so often and for such long periods that they can become complacent in their actions. This is never a good thing because complacency can lead to accidents. When you hit the road in Dayton, Ohio, you will likely encounter a large number of trucks and buses. You need to know the proper way to operate your vehicle near them in order to remain safe.

You should never tailgate a truck or bus. These vehicles are higher off the ground than cars, which means if you cannot stop in time, you could find yourself getting stuck underneath the truck or bus. This is incredibly dangerous and could lead to a fatal accident.

How to prepare your motorcycle for spring in Ohio

The spring season is finally here, even if it doesn't seem like the weather is cooperating. Despite the chilly temperatures, you still need to prepare your motorcycle for the first ride of the spring. If your bike sat locked in a garage for the entire winter, you will need to perform some maintenance to make sure it is ready for the first ride. Follow the tips outlined here and your first ride should be a safe, fun one in Dayton.

Before you even begin inspecting your bike, you need to review the insurance for it. Make sure it is active and has not lapsed. If the insurance lapsed, you must get new insurance before hitting the road this spring for the first time.

Why are truck accidents different from other types of car crashes

Even confident drivers may feel a pang of anxiety when they find themselves traveling next to an 18-wheeler. This is for good reason: If an accident happens, a truck can do far more damage than an ordinary passenger vehicle. Additionally, in some situations, a semi can be more likely to cause a crash in the first place.

Because trucks carry far more weight than other types of vehicles, any resulting impact will be far stronger. What could have been just a fender bender with a smaller vehicle can turn into a serious crash.

An overview of delayed onset of pain

Being involved in a car accident can be scary. Even the most minor of accidents can cause you a high level of stress and worry. You never know what type of injury you might suffer in a car accident. That's why you should always accept or seek medical evaluation following an accident in Dayton, Ohio. Another issue that could crop up is delayed onset of pain.

Not every injury will present itself immediately after an accident. Internal bleeding, pain and other issues could very well take hours or days to present symptoms. This is reason enough alone for you to seek medical care following an accident. The sheer unknown factor should be frightening enough.

Signs of a traumatic brain injury

A car accident can cause several problems for victims, and determining whether or not you have a serious injury can be difficult. However, it’s important to seek medical treatment right away if you exhibit any symptoms that point to a larger concern.

Traumatic brain injuries (TBI) are commonly the result of a violent blow or jolt to the head or body, so car accident victims should be especially wary of symptoms that appear to be the sign of a TBI.

Is your baby's birth injury normal or grounds for a lawsuit?

As beautiful as giving birth is, it sometimes can also be dangerous for the mother and/or baby. Often, the risks are due to natural factors out of anyone's control. Other times, the danger comes from medical staff causing harm.

It is important to know the difference between a normal birth injury for a baby and a preventable, serious health effect due to negligence and other forms of medical malpractice. In general, how the trauma happened determines the category.
